As the name suggests, OCD consists of two main components: obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions relate to mental preoccupation (e.g. I
did not lock my front door), which lead to a compulsion to behave a certain way (e.g. double checking if the door is locked). The
compulsion is completed to reduce the distress related to the obsession. The issues that commonly concern people with OCD are:
